Florida

Florida was my most recent holiday and also one of my favourites. I had already been there twice before in 2009 and 2014. America is one of my favourite places to go because the weather is great, there is so much to do and the people are really nice. I also love shopping and there are some great shopping centres there. Going to Florida was actually my idea and the parents just rolled with it. They love going to America though so I knew they wouldn't have a problem with it. After 2 flights we arrived in Orlando and headed for The Grove Resort & Spa. The Resort was stunning and massive. My weeks consisted of shopping, hanging by the pool and adventure parks. We also went to Miami for 2 days. My mom’s favourite thing to do is shop so the holiday mostly consisted of shopping. But the best part was going to Universal Studios. That was the highlight of the trip and I was finally old enough and had the courage to go on all of the rides. It was an amazing thrilling experience and I wou

California

I always wanted to go to California. LA more like. It was where all the famous people lived and it just seemed like the place to be. I figured when i brought it up when I was 9 it was a long shot. But to my surprise they actually said yes and we actually went. I had never been so excited for a holiday. I remember getting to LAX and being quite disappointed. I thought it would be some amazing place for some reason but turns out it was just an ordinary plain airport. I honestly could not tell you a thing about where we stayed because I have no recollection. All I remember is walking on the Hollywood boulevard and getting a picture at almost every star. We went on a tour bus of hollywood and went to celebrities houses. Then while on the bus we got stopped at a traffic light beside Kyle Massey who starred on one of my favourite Disney Channel shows. He said hi to us and I thought about that moment for the rest of 2011. We did go to Disneyland and saw the parade and it was still as good eve

Dubai

Dubai was probably my favourite destination. Even though I was 10 I still remember it pretty well. It was August 2012. The Olympics were ending. We flew Emirates and I remember seeing the flight attendants uniform and thinking wow would love to be them but I’ve since changed my mind. The flight was great and they gave me a little cute kiddies box of food with a kit kat that I will never forget. I remember getting into the airport and seeing loads of boys with fake beats headphones on and thinking that this was dubai. The place of fake brands and markets. When we were there we got a flyer to go on a desert safari and I was soon to find out that that would be the highlight of the holiday. The car ride into the desert was pretty brutal. There wasn’t any straight flat ground we were just driving up and down and side to side on bumps. It was like being on a rollercoaster that you regret getting onto. We got there, got weird Dubaian scarves, rode some camels and got some hennas. We visited

Introduction

Image
This is the introduction to my travel blog. My name is Toni Ojejinmi and you are reading my travel blog. I am basically going to be talking about my experiences from around the world. I thought I would do this so it would be more interesting and personal instead of doing loads of research and having lots of facts that no one wants to read. I love going to new places and this is a way to remember and reminisce about all the fun holidays I have had. Enjoy

Nigeria

Image
Nigeria is my native country you could say. Its where my whole family live and were born. You’d think I would want to go there and discover my background and stuff like that but it’s just always been the place I‘ve dreaded going. I live in Lagos. I’ve been there twice and it actually isn’t that bad but its just one of those things that you have to exaggerate for no reason. Its just the place I go to see family members that I have never met before but seem to know me. It consists of “wow you’ve gotten so big” and me smiling awkwardly. When I was in the taxi driving home from the airport it was raining with a touch of thunder and lightning and when I arrived to my dads house and got out of the car it was hot but still raining with a touch of thunder and lightning. That’s a pretty good description of what the weathers like in Nigeria. Grass is scarce. But it’s a pretty rich country I think. The houses are all like mansions and everyone has chefs and drivers. I vividly remember a cockr
